The firewall

Recommendations are computed first, by optimization code that cannot read affiliate configuration — the separation is structural (separate software packages) and verified by an automated test that proves changing commission rates changes nothing in any recommendation. Booking links are attached after the result exists. When no affiliate offer is available we link the official vendor; when no reliable link exists at all, we show the recommendation without any purchase link.

What we never do

• Reorder or reword a recommendation because of commission.
• Hide the cheaper option when it earns us nothing.
• Mark sponsored content as calculation output.
