Seoul Station and Busan Station are the station pair priced here. Both connect to local metro networks, but the local ride to your accommodation is not part of the intercity ticket. If you are staying in southern Seoul, also check departures from Suseo in the current official timetable, but do not apply this page's Seoul Station fare or coverage to that station pair.
This page deliberately avoids a fixed journey-time promise because stopping patterns and timetables vary. Use the official booking timetable for the exact departure you plan to take.
Return to Seoul, or continue onward?
Write the final mainland departure city into your plan before pricing a return. If you leave Korea from Busan, a Seoul–Busan return is the wrong baseline: enter only the outward train. If you stop in Gyeongju on the way, enter Seoul–Gyeongju and Gyeongju–Busan separately. Those two booked legs are not the same ticket as a nonstop itinerary to Busan.
Protect the time you actually have in Busan
For a day trip, work backward from the train home: leave time to return from the last activity to Busan Station, then subtract the local journey after your arrival. What remains is your usable visit, not the gap between the two KTX departure times. If that remainder does not fit your main activity, compare an overnight stay before buying a pass to support the day trip.

Tickets or a KORAIL Pass?
Seoul–Busan has a relatively high individual-ticket total, so it deserves to be entered first in a pass comparison. The decisive question is what else you will ride: a second long-distance day can change the result, while an uncovered SRT or local-transit leg cannot be counted as pass value.
